Mountaineers dominate Wildcats in the first half

MORGANTOWN—The Kentucky Wildcats traveled to West Virginia to take on the Mountaineers on Saturday. 

The first half belonged to the Mountaineers, as they dominated the Wildcats, outscoring and out rebounding the Cats, along with forcing 11 turnovers.

The Mountaineers went into the locker room at the half with an impressive 17-point lead. 
The Cats started the second half with an immediate turn over, after they were unable to inbound the ball.

As the half wore on the Cats were able to make a run. Kentucky made all 18 of its free throw attempts and out rebounded West Virginia 29-13.

UK freshman Kevin Knox led the Cats scoring a record high 34 points and recording 11 rebounds. 
Jevon Carter did work for the 'EERS recording 26 points, closely followed by Sagaba Konate with 13 points for the night. 

The Mountaineers gave it their all, but just weren't able to sink their shots. It was ultimately the Wildcats that came up with the 83-76 victory on the road. 

WVU will be back in action on Wednesday, taking on Iowa St. on the road.
