“For the first time playing this season, I think we did a good job. With only having 15 kids, it was hard to see how the team would do,” said Head Coach Doug Devart. “We still need to work hard at practice, getting faster, stronger and more aggressive on the field.”

“The offense ran the ball well and completed multiple passes that helped gain valuable yardage,” he continued. “Defensively, we played solid, and I was really impressed with the overall performance of the boys.”

The Bearcub PeeWees took on the Barbour County Stallions on Saturday, as well. The Stallions managed to control most of the game and walked away with a 25-0 win.

Grafton’s Mighty Mite team also took to the field at Philip Barbour in their first game of the season last Saturday.

The Bearcub Midgets will hit the field tomorrow, Sunday, September 13 to take on the Colts of West Fairmont. The game is set to kick off at 1:00 p.m., at Mary Lou Retton Park. The PeeWees are set to take the field at 3:00 p.m. in their contest, and the Mighty Mites will begin play at 5:00 p.m.
