Mary (Jetty) M. Cox’s time on earth ended on the evening of June 14, 2017, at the age of 86. After valiantly struggling with heart complications, she went to be with the Lord.
She was born in Grafton, WV on August 14, 1930, to the late Jefferson and Lucy (Croston) Mayle.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edman L. Cox, in 1989, her eldest son, Arnold B. Cox in 2016, and her brothers; Sherman, Uley, Richard, Herbert, Oney, Wilbert, David, Melvin Mayle, also a sister and brother in infancy.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children; Nelda (Robert) Ward, Alice (Lawton) Grantham, Crystal (Frank) Sears and Glenda (George) Sommerfield, all from Columbus, GA, Lorita (William) Schlegel from Reva, VA and Lonnie Cox from Beaver, PA. Left to miss her forever is her 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law Benjamin Cox and many nieces and nephews. We reluctantly and sadly say goodbye and God speed to our beautiful mother.
Visitation will be at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw St, Grafton, WV, on Monday, June 19, 2017, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at West Hill Wesleyan Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Miller officiating. Mary will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment service will follow at Woodsdale Memorial Park.
