GRAFTON—Grafton High School freshman Meredith Maier has been selected to the 2018-2019 All-Big Ten girls basketball team.
Maier, who led her team in scoring this season, was selected to the second team earlier this week.
This season Maier averaged 12 points and 11 rebounds per game and was the team’s leading scorer in most of the contests.
“Meredith making the second team is a huge honor because of how tough our conference is,” said head coach Andrew Moore. “Our conference has produced the last three state AA champions, so it’s a challenge night in and night out to compete.”
“Meredith finished the year averaging 12 points and 11 rebounds. Now the challenge will begin for her because other teams know her name and will start focusing more and more on her. We are very proud of her because she certainly puts the work in, especially in the off season,” he added.
