Lula “Alice” (Miller) Davies, age 83, of Redwood Street, Grafton, WV, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018, at the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born November 12, 1934, in Kingwood, WV the daughter of the late Harland Ray and Ethel Pearl (Goodwin) Miller.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard E. Davies; three children, Richard E. Davies, III of Thornton, Terry L. Jones and husband Mike, of Orange Park, FL, and Allison M. Simmons and husband Duane, of Flemington; seven grandchildren, Chelsey L. Jones of Roanoke, VA, William R. Davies of Flemington, Jennifer R. Weaver and husband Anthony of Grafton, Lydea M. Holman and husband Stephen of Roanoke, VA, Mackenzie R. Simmons, Kassidy L. Simmons, and Merrick D. Simmons, all of Flemington; five great-grandchildren, Aiden C. Ketterman, Destiny M. Davies, Jasmine Nevaeh-Lynn, Samael D. Weaver, and Natalie B. Weaver; one sister, Gladys Mae “Dolly” Harvey of Morgantown; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Delmer Ray Miller.
Alice graduated from University High School with the Class of 1952 and she was co-owner of the IGA Store in Grafton with her husband Richard for 11 years. She was a former member of the Modern Woodmen of the World and the Haymond Community Center.
She was a member of the Blueville United Methodist Church in Grafton.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Thursday, Febuary 22, from 3:00-8:00 p.m., and from 10:00 until the funeral hour on Friday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Judy A. Flynn officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
