Loetta Fay Dobbins


Loetta Fay Dobbins, 75, of Brownton, WV, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at home. 

She was born in Simpson, WV on February 11, 1942, a daughter of the late Russell and Mazella Mayle.  Fay is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph A. Dobbins. 

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dobbins is survived by two sons: Patrick John Dobbins and wife Carla of Flemington, and Joseph Albert Dobbins II and wife Tina of Beaufort, SC; three brothers and one sister: Charles “Bucky” Mayle and wife Barbara of Ionia, MI, Jonathan “Johnny” Mayle of Philippi, Jimmy Mayle of Simpson, and Doris Ann Greathouse and husband Jack of Flemington; four grandchildren: Zane Marshall, Zoe Marie, Samantha Brooke, and Gracie Morgan and two great-grandchildren: Evan Alexander and Alexis Brooke; a sister-in-law, Devanna Stoper and husband Lewis of Lumberport; two brothers-in-law, James Perry Dobbins of Fairmont, and Greg Maciag of Redford, MI; and a close niece Rose Anna Greathouse of Flemington as well as many other nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. 

In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by six siblings: Josephine Lantz, Mary Rose Shaffer, Darlene Mayle, Donna Bell Maciag, Shirley Snider, and Anna Mae Gobel. 

Fay was employed in her early years at the Shirt Factory in Grafton and then more recently worked in housekeeping at Rosewood Nursing Center, which she greatly enjoyed.  She was a member of the West Hill Wesleyan Methodist Church and enjoyed going to Sunday school each week.  Fay enjoyed talking on the phone to her friends, going shopping, and loved working in her flower gardens.  She was a very dedicated mother and grandmother, and enjoyed attending her families sporting events.  Her affectionate smile will always be remembered by her family and many friends. 

Family and friends will be received at the Bradley J. Mayle Funeral Home, in Flemington, WV, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 3:00-8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the West Hill Wesleyan Methodist Church, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Paul Mullen presiding.  Mrs. Dobbins will lie in state at the church Wednesday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. 

Interment will follow at the Mt. View Cemetery near Pleasant Creek.
