GRAFTON— A Taylor County contractor was charged with felony obtaining money or property by false pretenses on Thursday, February 9.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Taylor County Prosecutor’s Investigator, Michael Todd Satterfield, 42, of Grafton, was arrested after he had allegedly wrote a bad check from an account belonging to his company, Vapor Oil Field Services LLC, for services provided to him.
The complaint states that in December 2016, he knowingly wrote a check in the amount of $2,600, from an account in which the funds were not available.
The complaint further states that the Prosecuting Attorney’s office attempted to make contact with Satterfield on many occasions, regarding the incident.
Satterfield was transported to the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, and is being held on a $5,000 cash-only bond.
