Leonidus “Laddie” French Malone, 97, of Grafton, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017, at Fairmont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on July 11, 1920, a son of the late French L. Malone and Edna (Joliffe) Malone.
He was a member of Pruntytown United Methodist Church, and owned and operated Malone Electric and Machine Company. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his sons David Malone of Morgantown and Dennis Malone of Fairmont, and his daughter Janice Malone of Renton, Washington; he is also survived by a sister, Esther Burrough, of Fairmont.
In addition to his parents, Laddie was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean (Swisher) Malone in October of 1994. The couple were married on November 8, 1946.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, on Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday from 1:00-8:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Catawba Cemetery.
