Lady Knights come off loss to Bees, trampling over Elkins

PRUNTYTOWN—The Taylor County Middle School girls basketball team traveled to East Fairmont, on January 19, to play the East Fairmont Middle School Hornets.

The girls had a slow second quarter, and were never able to catch up to the Hornets, falling 28—21.

Bria Jacobs led the Lady Knights with seven points, followed by Meredith Maier with six.

The remaining Lady Knights in the scoring book were McKenzie Mayle (2), Shayla Poling (1) and Mia Chambers (3).

The Junior Varsity team also fell to the Hornets, 37—19.

The scoring of the Knights came from Mara Griffith (3), Eva Jones (3), Hannah Moats (3), Sydney Friend (4), Madison Mayle (1), Elizabeth Uhl (1) and Katie Scherzinger (4).

Last Monday the girls traveled to Elkins, and came away with a 43—16 victory.

The leading scorer for the Knights was, Jacobs with 14, followed by Maier with 11

. The other Lady Knights points came from Frederique Maloley (4), Friend (1), Mayle (2), Poling (7) and Chambers (4).

The Lady Knight JV’s lost to Elkins 28—20.

The Knights points came from Griffith (2), Tehya Hern (2), Friend (2), Uhl (4), Scherzinger (4) and Alyssia Satterfield (6).

On Thursday the girls welcomed Philippi into the gym at TCMS.

The Lady Knights came out scoring, and never looked back, on their way to a 45—20 win.

Jacobs once again led all scorers with 18, while Maloley and Chambers each chipped in six points.

The remaining scoring came from Maier (4), Mayle (5), Poling (4) and Satterfield (2).

The Lady Knight JV team dominated the Bulldogs 31—4.

Madison Mayle led all scorers with 16 followed by Satterfield with six.

The remaining points came from Griffith (4), Eva Jones (2), Isabella Swiger (2) and Friend (2).

The girls will be back in action tonight at home ,against West Fairmont, and at home on Thursday against East Fairmont.
