Lady Cats take down Preston Knights at preseason scrimmage


GRAFTON— After an unconventional season last year, due to COVID-19, the Grafton High School Lady Bearcat volleyball team is ready to be back in action, with fans in the stands. 

In preparation for their upcoming season, volleyball squad took to Scotty Hamilton Gymnasium on Monday evening for a preseason scrimmage against the Lady Knights of Preston County High School. 

The contest also drew in Bearcat fans who have veen anticipating the start of the sport, including a couple of surprise spectators, with two of the school’s Bearcat mascots in attendance, cheering the team on to victory. 

Despite their small, nine-person roster for the game, the team hustled to success, winning three of the four matches on the night, a promising start to the exciting season ahead.
