Lady Bearcats struggle with Indians

GRAFTON – The Grafton High School girls basketball team was back in action on Wednesday night as they hosted the Bridgeport Indians. The Cats had trouble finding their groove on offense as they fell to the Indians 65 to 32.

The Indians dominated the first two quarters as the Cats fell behind 41 to 13 at the half. The second half was much of the same as the Cats added 19 points to their total but allowed BHS to add 24 to their total.

Bria Jacobs was the top scorer for GHS as she recorded 11 points in the contest. The remaining GHS points were scored by Meredith Maier (8), Jocelyn Countryman (4), Megan Kisner (4), Alyssa Satterfield (3) and Bailey Toothman (2).

The JV teams were also in action on Wednesday night. In this contest the Cats were defeated by the Indians 49 to 31.

The GHS points were scored by Hailey Skiles (8), McKenzie Mayle (6), Shayla Poling (6), Tehya Hern (4), Amber Smith (3), Isabella Swiger (2) and Sydney Friend (2).

The girls will be back in action tonight as they host Lewis County. The JV game will tip at 5:45 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 7:30 p.m.
