Lady Bearcats fall to Petersburg


PETERSBURG – The Grafton High School girls went back out on the road Saturday night, when they traveled to Petersburg, to take on the Lady Vikings.

The Bearcats started slow, as they were outscored by 16 in the first quarter  and could never catch up to the Vikings.

At the end of the contest, the Cats fell to Petersburg with a final score of 62—38.

It was all over going into the locker room at halftime, as the Lady Cats had been outscored 30—13 in the first half.

The Vikings called off the domination in the second half, as the Cats put 25 more points on the board.

Bria Jacobs led the Lady Cats with 10 points, followed by Meredith Maier with nine.

The remaining GHS points were scored by Tori Jackson (5), Brooklyn Teeple (5), Megan Kisner (2), Alyssa Satterfield (2), Bailey Toothman (2) and Amber Smith (2).

The Lady Cats are back in action Friday, at home, against Berkeley Springs. The girls varsity contest starts at 5:45 p.m., with the boys varsity game to follow at 7:30 p.m.
