Knights XC wraps up 2019 season

PRUNTYTOWN—It’s already that time of the year again, as the TCMS Cross Country teams took to the course for their last meet of the season, a large multi-team invitational at Doddridge County Park on Tuesday.

The TCMS girls’ team took 17th place (out of 29 teams) at the Doddridge County Invitational while the boys’ team placed 15th out of the 29 teams who entered.

On the girls’ side, 210 runners were registered for the race as TCMS’s Emily Viani placed 64th overall with a time of 16:05. Kevie Sipes also finished in the Top 100 with a time of 17:02, good enough for 98th place. They were followed by River Sipes (17:20), Caitlyn Boylen (18:03), Kelsey Massie (18:29), Kayla Greathouse (19:25), and Yvonna Knotts (20:59).

On the boys’ side, Jacob Maier ran the fastest time for the Knights as he finished in 54th place with a time of 14:25. He was followed by Owen Shreve (14:56) and Harrison Maier (15:03), who both broke the Top 100. They were followed by McCray Blackwell (15:40), M.J. Niggemyer (15:47), Jonathan Maier (16:23), and Brayden Weaver (16:30).

230 runners in all participated in the boys’ race.

In JV action, TCMS’s Ellie Royce posted a time of 21:32 for the girls (out of 166 runners) while multiple other Knights participated in the boys’ race.

Colson Annon led the way with a time of 16:01, followed by Corbin Knotts (16:55), Oliver Barker (16:59), Greyson Ramezan (17:04), Gabriel Young (17:45), Landon Brown (18:33), Austin Mayle (18:43), and Noah Moats (21:42).
