Knights take down Belington Middle, fall to Elkins

PRUNTYTOWN—After dropping a close contest to Westwood on Monday, the TCMS boys’ basketball team was back in action on Wednesday as they traveled to Elkins to take on Elkins Middle School.

In JV action, the Hornets would defeat the visiting Knights by the score of 36-31. Seven Knights would score two or more points in the contest, with Mason Markley’s nine points leading the way. Rounding out the scoring for TCMS would be Kenny Humphries (7), Cody Cook (5), Adrian Joyce (4), Cam Foley (2), Ethan Dotson (2), and Gavin Hess (2). Elkins was led by Dylan Hinzman’s 11 points.

In the varsity matchup, Elkins would again get the better of the Knights, securing the victory by the score of 50-42. Isaac Lough would lead the Knights will 11 points, followed by Isiah Vanscoy (9), Mason Dunham (7), Dustin Keener (6), Harrison Maier (5), and Jacob Maier (4). Elkins would be led by Griffin Boggs and Brock Holland, who each had 10.

TCMS was back in action on Thursday with a road contest against Belington Middle School as the Knights were able to get back to their winning ways.

In JV action, the Knights would pull away for a 46-17 victory as eleven players were able to get into the scoring column for TCMS. They were led by Mason Markley’s 11 points followed by Ethan Dotson (6), Kenny Humphries (6), Gavin Hess (5), Kaden Keener (4), Cam Foley (4), Jaxson Hall (2), Austin Mayle (2), MJ Niggemyer (2), Nathanial Bailey (2), and McCray Blackwell (1).

In the varsity contest, the Knights would take a 27-15 lead into the locker room at halftime and ultimately win by the score of 54-27.

The Knight were led by Isaac Lough (16), Isaiah Vanscoy (13), Kaden Keener (10), Jacob Maier (6), Harrison Maier (5), and Mason Dunham (4).

TCMS will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Shinnston to take on Lincoln Middle School.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7:15pm.
