Knights Soccer feels the sting of the Bees

PRUNTYTOWN—The Taylor County Middle School (TCMS) Knights Soccer team traveled to East Fairmont to take on the Bees, at the Marion County Soccer Complex.

The Knights started off with intensity that would be matched by the Bees.

“I was very proud of how the boys played in the first half. Keeper Tyler Clemm had to make a couple of saves, but one snuck through for an East Fairmont goal,” voiced Knights Soccer Head Coach Travis Uhl.

East Fairmont would take an early lead with about ten minutes left in the half 1-0.

Just before the buzzer sounded for halftime, Bryce Kelley intercepted a Bees pass and took it coast to coast for goal.

The Knights would enter halftime against the East Fairmont Bees all tied up 1-1.

The Knights would start the second half matching the intensity of the first, but things would soon begin to unravel.

East Fairmont struck fast and hard, quickly scoring three unanswered goals, taking a 4-1 lead.

The East Fairmont Bees would keep up the pressure on the Knights.

Late in the second half, the Bees found the back of the net another two times to end the game with a final of East Fairmont 6 and the Knights 1.

“I put the loss on me. The boys gave everything they had for the full 60 minutes. I was very proud of the heart and hustle these boys showed,” Coach Uhl lamented. “I must give this East Fairmont team credit, they made plays, and we did not. I was out coached.”

The Knights will be at home this week as they take on R.L. Bland next Tuesday.
