MMA Fighter coming to Ground Zero in Morgantown

GRAFTON—Natalie “Kill Face” Pagliughi, a professional MMA fighter, originally from Grafton, who fights out of “The Yard” Muay Thai gymnasium in Los Angeles, California, will be coming to Morgantown on Tuesday, July 9th to host a Muay Thai seminar at Ground Zero Systems at the Mountaineer Mall on Greenbag Road.

The seminar will be held from 6:00pm-8:00 p.m., and is open to the public. The price of admission is $10 per person.

Muay Thai is a combat sport from Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees and shins.

Pagliughi, who graduated from Grafton High School in 2005, started doing Muay Thai in 2010 as a way get back into shape, while looking for a fun way to exercise. After her first class she was hooked and six months later she started sparring and decided to try fighting.

“This sport has done so much for me,” Pagliughi said. “I’ve learned many things about myself not only as a fighter but as a person. The number one thing that this sport has taught me is that being a good person in and out of the ring is the most important thing in life and that the relationships that we make are priceless.”

Her fight name “Kill Face” comes from one of her fights when her opponent fainted in a stare down.

Pagliughi’s accolades include an amateur record of 12-3-2-1, a professional record of 7-3, and the following titles and/or awards:

Natalie also competed in the Season Two World Muay Thai Angels tournament. Although she lost her quarterfinal fight, she won a lottery to determine who would continue onto the semifinals after the withdrawal of other competitors from the tournament. She finished as the 3rd runner-up.
