Kathleen Moran Weaver

Kathleen Moran Weaver passed away peacefully in her sleep October 7, 2022, in Chico, California, just a few weeks away from her 104th birthday.

She was born November 2, 1918, in Grafton, West Virginia, the daughter of Lonnie and Alverda Moran.

Kathleen grew up on West Main Street and worked at the Hazel Atlas Glass Company until she moved to California in 1959. After moving to California, she started working for General Dynamics Aerospace Corp. in Pomona, CA and was with them until she retired 22 years later. After retirement she kept busy with daily exercise and volunteering at her church, the local hospital, and for the American Cancer Society.  She also enjoyed traveling all over the United States, as well as internationally.

Kathleen was predeceased by her daughter the late Wanda Robinson Flohr.

She is survived by her daughter Paula Weaver Foster, as well as her six grandchildren: Douglas Flohr, Matthew Flohr, Michaela Flohr, Autumn Flohr Young, Amy Foster and Laura Foster Wilson.  She had eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

As much as Kathleen loved California, she spoke of her hometown often and enjoyed the memories of riding in her grandfather’s cable car, going to one of the opera houses to see a show, and shopping at all the dress shops in downtown Grafton.

She will be interred in Santa Maria, CA later this year, in a private ceremony.
