Join the TLSP Foundation for holiday fun

TAYLOR COUNTY—Tygart Lake State park is getting into the holiday spirit with their very popular annual breakfast with Santa and lakeside horse drawn wagon rides.  But before the holiday bells start ringing, there will also be a scrumptious Thanksgiving buffet for those that just don’t feel like cooking.

Enjoy a beautiful lakeside Thanksgiving buffet complete with oven roasted turkey, pineapple glazed ham, homemade stuffing, buttery rolls, creamy mashed potatoes, homemade turkey giblet gravy, cheesy broccoli, delicious mashed sweet potato casserole, cream cheese corn casserole, special recipe green beans, cheesy brussel sprouts, sliced jellied cranberry sauce, salad bar, homemade pumpkin pie, tasty apple pie, double fudge brownies and a variety of cupcakes. 

Guests will be get to choose from all of those choices  for only $7.99 for children 4-10, and $17.99 for adults. 

The buffet will take place Thursday November 28 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  On this day, only the buffet will be served, there will be no other menu available. 

On December 14 make a day of it by enjoying breakfast with Santa and then heading ride out for a ride in the winter wonderland.

The Tygart Lake State Park Foundation will once again sponsor a fun filled breakfast with Santa.  The Lodge will serve a delicious breakfast buffet from 8:00-11:00 a.m.  The cost of the buffet will be $5.99 for children three and over and for adults is $10.99, children three and under eat for free. 

Santa will be on hand to hear all wish lists from 9:00 a.m. until noon.  There will also be a craft for the kids, as well as free hot chocolate and cookies.

“During Breakfast with Santa, the Tygart Lake State Park Foundation will provide free face painting again this year with our vendor Paint Misbehaving. We will also have cookies and hot chocolate along with crafts supplied by our park naturalist, Jacob Jackson,” shared a representative from the Tygart Lake State Park Foundation.

After a filling, hot breakfast and a visit with the jolly old elf, put on your mittens and scarves and head outside for a horse drawn wagon ride through the gorgeous lakeside scenery of the Tygart Lake.

Wagon rides will be available from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for only $7.  This year will feature a new red wagon ride to accommodate more riders.

“The ride is about 20 minutes round-trip. The wagon usually has blankets, but everyone is welcome to bring one from home to snuggle up with,” added the Tygart Lake State Park Foundation representative.
