James Harry Weekley, 90, of Grafton, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Grafton City Hospital.
He was born in Grafton, October 22, 1926, son of the late Harry and Blanche Griffith Weekley.
He is survived by his wife Helen Weekley, they were married February 10, 2000.
Jim was a US Army/Air Corps Veteran and was a member of Grafton VFW Post 3081. He retired as Chief Clerk for the railroad. Jim was a member of the Blueville United Methodist Church, where he sang in the church choir, and also sang with his wife, in the Taylor County Singers. He loved to be with people and enjoyed being with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Debberah Nestor, and Star Hill, both of Grafton; six grandchildren, R.J. Nestor and wife, Elisha, Franchesca Nestor, Jeanna Leigh Carder and husband, Cole, James Hill, Heather Hill, Robert Hill; six great-grandchildren, Daisy Nestor, Wesley Nestor, Lucy Carder, Dylan Hill, Kiera Hill, and Aria Paige Hill; three stepchildren, Dawn Butler, Butch Stubbefield, Jamie Biddix; six step-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Vicki Weekley, and Tanta Rose Weekley; one step-daughter, Adele Stubblefield.
Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave, Grafton, on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Bartlett Funeral Home, with Rev. Sue Lowther officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery, Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central WVA DAV Chapter 24, and their Auxiliaries, and the WV Army National Honor Guard of Camp Dawson.
