Jack Bruce Marsh, 95, of Grafton passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at Grafton City Hospital. He was born January 2, 1922 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Floden and Ethyel Waller Marsh, Jack was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Louise Marsh, March 7, 2016.
He was US Navy Veteran, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon, American Campaign Ribbon, and Victory Medal of World War II. He was a conductor for CSX Railroad. Jack was a member of the Grafton Lodge AF&AM and was a 32nd degree Mason. He loved farming and talking with people, he never met a stranger. He was a member of the Pleasant Creek United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Pat Conaway and husband Tim, Madison, WV; three grandchildren, Levi Conaway and wife Rebecca Huntington, Ben Conaway and wife Dr. Maclyn McCall, Charleston, and Amelia Conaway and fiancé’, Jacob Kitchen, Morgantown; two great grandchildren, Emma Conaway and Ava Conaway both of Huntington; a special niece Joyce Moyer and husband Bernard, Grafton, numerous nieces, nephews and his faithful companions Stuart and Meg.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one son, Jack Bruce Marsh, Jr; two sisters, Anna Jones, Ruth Cannell; two brothers, Bill Marsh, and Gandy Marsh.
Family will receive friends, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Bartlett Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 with Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24 and their auxiliaries, and the US Navy Honor Guard.
Masonic burial rites will be rendered by the Grafton Lodge #15 AF&AM.
