Hulley's outstanding efforts earned him Taylor County Athlete of the Week nomination

Taylor County Athlete of the Week is back, and this week we are showcasing an athlete that has been making great strides for the Bearcat Soccer team, who helped propel the Cats to a 7-1 win over Poca High School last Saturday.

Junior midfielder and soccer standout Landen Hulley has been a starter for the Bearcat Soccer program for the past three years, making big plays, breaking up attacks, moving into the perfect scoring position and finding the back of the net for his team.

In the match-up against Poca, his quick feet, keen mind and strong focus would help him record a Hat Trick, scoring three of the Cat’s seven goals on the day. In addition to his scores, he assisted with additional goals in the contest.

According to Bearcat Soccer Head Coach, during his tenure with the team, Hulley has not only grown into a strong, formidable player but he has also taken on a leadership role, helping to inspire his teammates and boost morale on the field.

“Landen has a great rapport with his coaches, teammates, officials and our opponents,” Knight voiced. “He is the model player for our program!”

Hulley has been taking to the soccer fields since he was just five years old, and with determination, dedication and drive, he strives to improve his techniques every time he hits the turf.

“Landen has a passion, drive and ability to continue playing soccer at the next level,” Knight expressed. “I can’t wait to see what the season holds for him!”

Congratulations to Landen Hulley for being named this week’s Taylor County Student Athlete of the Week!
