Howard Merle Wilson, Jr. went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 7, 2020, after his battle with cancer. He passed peacefully, in his home, surrounded by his family.
Howard was born on July 16, 1943 in Fort Howard, MD.
Howard was a strong believer in the Lord and shared the message of Salvation with many throughout his life. He was a Vietnam Veteran, combat medic. He didn't talk much of his experiences but was so proud to have served his country. He held many job titles, but the one he enjoyed the most was being a Yellow Cab driver in Morgantown, WV. He loved meeting new people and sharing stories about his family while listening to others tell their stories.
He was a loving father, grandfather and friend.
He leaves behind three children: Jason Wilson and wife Carrie, Stephen Wilson, Esther Ervin and husband David Pierce; two granddaughters Ava and Haley; his children's mother and lifetime best friend, Debra Wylie; two sisters, Patricia Phillips and Ann Stemple; and countless friends who will cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Merle Wilson and his mother Elizabeth Wilson.
He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, but most of all for being a constant in the lives of those he loved and who loved him. There will never be another like him, we will carry on his memory and remember him as a man who loved his family more than life itself.
Howard will be laid to rest on Friday, November 20th at 11:00 a.m., at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, WV with a luncheon at the Grafton VFW to follow.
