Mr. H. Compton Pembroke, 95, of New Market, Maryland, passed away on April 27, 2017.
He was born on March 16, 1922 to the late William Compton Pembroke and Mary Hall Pembroke.
He was the loving husband of Marion Pembroke for 68 years.
Comp, as he was known by many, was a Civil Engineer, who worked for the B&O Railroad upon graduation from West Virginia University. In 1972 he left the B&O, and went to work for DeLeuw, Cather and Company, a Consulting Engineering Firm. He was very involved and active with the Boy Scouts throughout his life, where he obtained the rank of Eagle Scout, and was a Troop Leader and on the Boy Scout Commision.
In his spare time, HC was an avid outdoorsman who loved to garden and do yardwork. He loved history and visiting historical sites. Both he and Marion traveled frequently to places like England, Paris and Bermuda.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter; Phyllis P. Tougas and husband Maurice. Grandchildren; Andre, Nicole and April. Greatgrandchildren; Emma, Ethan, Simone and Julien. Sister; Natalie P. Wolfe. And several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter; Cynthia Pembroke.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 30, from 1:00-2:00 p.m., at the Historical Chapel at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, Maryland, where a service will begin at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Memory.
