Greene’s Plaza Post Office reopens

GRAFTON—After the Post Office location in Greene’s Plaza closed down when Save-A-Lot went out of business, residents were left with only the Main Street option to drop off and pick up their mail, but as of Monday, August 3, that changed.

Rick Greene is happy to announce that location, which has been completely remodeled, is once again open and in operation.

“The postal location now has its own entrance, and we are happy to welcome customers back to carry out their business with us,” he shared.

All postal services can be carried out at the location including, mailing and shipping of packages and envelopes both domestically and internationally, the purchasing of stamps, payments of utility and credit card bills and the purchasing of money orders.

Individuals may also apply for a passport or find the perfect stamp for a stamp collection. Those wishing to serve the country may also register with the Selective Service System at post office locations.

“To make things a little easier, we are going to start accepting credit and debit card payments in the near future,” Greene noted. “We are just waiting on the equipment from the Postal Service.”

The location will once again be offering PO Boxes for residents to rent. Greene revealed that they will be giving priority to those customers who had previously utilized the location for the receipt of mail.

Whether it’s for business or personal use, the United States Postal Service offers various sizes of PO boxes to hold your mail and packages safely at a facility. According to www.usps.com, many locations allow 24/7 PO Box access, and if a package is too large to fit in a box, it will be held at the location for customers.

According to Greene, the location will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Monday and Friday, and 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

“Once Ace Hardware opens, we will have the postal location open on Saturdays,” noted Greene. “We anticipate their opening in September. They are still waiting on their shelving units, and once those arrive, they will have to bring in their inventory, so they are still at least a few weeks out from opening.”

So, be sure to visit the newly remodeled space when you need to ship or receive mail, among other services.
