Grafton Wrestling Club opens 2018-19 season in Oakland

OAKLAND, MD – The Grafton Wrestling Club opened their 2018-2019 season last Saturday as they headed east to Oakland, MD. The team wrestled in the Ram Tough Tournament at Southern Garrett County High School.

The top finisher for Grafton was Garrett Davis as he placed first in the (7-8) 90 pound class and then placed second in the (9-10) 90 pound class.

The next best finish for Grafton was Maverick Bartsch as he placed second in the (7-8) 55 pound class.

Dylan Gutshall continued where he last off from last year as he placed third in the (9-10) 100 pound class.

Ian Glaspell (7-8,65), J.W.Nestor (7-8,90) and Jaxon Halbritter (7-8,65) all finished in fourth place in the respective divisions.

The remaining wrestlers to compete for Grafton were Jason Austin, Isaiah Glaspell, Luke Knotts, Brayton Davis, Logan Shaver, Cade Mooney, Christian Cox, Neaven Armstrong and Noah Armstrong.

Wrestling as independents were Charles Hoskins and Aiden Sheme in the 113 pound class. Hoskins placed fifth in this division.
