GRAFTON— Now that their season has come to an end, the Grafton High School softball team is recognizing the hard work of more than a dozen of their players.
On Wednesday, the coaching staff presented letters to 15 Lady Bearcats, an accomplishment and honor that was hard-earned.
In order to letter, the girls had to start or play in a minimum of 12 varsity games throughout the season.
Seniors Mia Chambers, Aubree Collins Haley Perks, Olivia Shaver and Ashlyn Zbosnik lettered as Bearcats for the final time, while Fredrique Maloley, Gracen Purkey and Amber Smith lettered as juniors.
Additionally, Lady Cat sophomores Kaileigh Spiker and Jordan Niggemyer earned the accomplishment.
And rounding out the team’s lettermen where Freshman Mattie Shaver, Jade Hall, Savanna Wyckoff, Abby Wyer and Garrah Lindsey.
“Letting in a sport has always been a goal of mine,” shared M. Shaver. “ I am glad I was able to accomplish this in a sport that I genuinely adore.
She went on to say that achieving her goal of lettering alongside of her incredible teammates and friends is something she is sure to remember for years to come.
“I just want to thank everyone; my teammates, coaches and family, who have been responsible for helping me get to where I’m at,” M. Shaver expressed.
