Grafton High wrestlers struggle at North Marion


FARMINGTON—The Grafton High School wrestling team traveled to North Marion on December 21, to battle against Weir High School and North Marion.

In the team competition, the Red Riders of Weir defeated the Bearcats 48-24 and GHS fell  to the Huskies of North Marion 42-27.

In in individual competition, Noah Allman was 2-0 at 113, with two wins by pin.

Shawn Kelly also went 2-0 for the day and recorded two pin wins at 120.

Freshman Eli Shumaker went 0-2 at 132 with both lost due to pin.

At 152, Dillon Williams went 2-0 with him winning his matches against Weir with the score of 6-3 and 10-4 against North Marion.

Dalton Mayle also went 2-0 at 182. Mayle won his match against Weir with a close score of 13-11 and recorded another win by pin against North Marion.

Garrett Williams won his lone match by pin against North Marion at 285. Williams won by forfeit against Weir due to Weir not having a wrestler at the weight class of 285.

The boys will be in action this Saturday, as they will travel two hours on the road to Cameron High School to partake in the Cameron Invitational.
