GRAFTON—On Monday, the Grafton Bearcats golf team headed to the Fairmont Field Club in Marion County for a quad match hosted by Fairmont Senior which also included Lincoln and Lewis County.
Grafton was led by low medalist Chris Miller’s score of 38 to shoot an overall team score of 186.
Fairmont Senior won the event with a team score of 177 while Elkins shot a 215. East Fairmont only had three players participate therefore their score didn’t count in the team standings.
GHS freshman Dustin Keener shot an excellent round of 45 to help Grafton’s score, while senior Frankie Spring (50) and Aiden Sheme (53) rounded out the scoring for the Bearcats. Also shooting well for Grafton was senior Mia Chambers (55) and freshman Brayden Palmer (55).
The Bearcats will be back in action tonight as they head to Elkins for a quad match which will also include Lincoln, Liberty, and Elkins.
Their next home match will be on Sept. 10 as they host Preston, North Marion, and Bridgeport at Tygart Lake Public Golf Course in Knottsville.
