Grafton Family Dentistry excited to serve patients at new location

GRAFTON—A dream two years in the making is finally coming to fruition for a local dental office in Grafton.

Grafton Family Dentistry has been serving patients at their Yates Avenue location for decades, but now under the leadership of Dr. Christa (Bryan) Garcia, the practice has taken on even more patients and has outgrown its space.

“It has been about two years since we came up with the idea of moving the practice to a new building,” explained Garcia. “It took a while to get the wheels moving, but we are excited that soon we will be serving patients in the new building.”

“We brought on Dr. Samantha Jette in the middle of June, and we’re expanding our hours,” Garcia noted. “With a growing practice, there just wasn’t enough room in our current location, so we decided it was time to venture to a new location.”

The new single-level facility will house 10 operatories to better serve the patients, as well as expanded parking.

“We have enjoyed our current location, but parking for both our patients and employees has always been an issue. With our new location, we will now have plenty of space, and it will be more handicap accessible,” Garcia revealed.

She said that when considering their options, it just wasn’t feasible to add on to their current location.

“We would have had to build on to the upstairs, and it would present issues for some of our patients,” she added.

So, with an idea of what their facility would look like, Garcia approached City Construction, owned and operated by Grafton native Beau Henderson and the Henderson family. After all the details were ironed out, ground was broken, and construction began.

“We really liked that there was a tie between City Construction and Grafton, and what makes it even better is that the project’s superintendent, Mike Drainer, is from Grafton too,” she explained. “A lot of local people have worked to bring this project together.”

Both dentists will begin seeing patients at their new office, located at 25 Barbara Street, in Blueville, on January 4.

“We see all types of patients, from children to adults, and perform a variety of dental procedures,” Garcia noted.

Dr. Garcia is excitedly accepting new patients, with a wide variety of services offered at their dental practice.

Whether you’re in need of a routine cleaning or an extraction, Garcia’s office has you covered. Offering services such as restoration and prosthetic work, including CEREC same-day all-ceramic crowns, complete and partial dentures, and laser fillings, Grafton Family Dentistry can get you smiling again!

In addition, the office provides routine root canal therapy, teeth whitening, regular and deep cleanings and Invisalign to straighten teeth, to ensure you’re smile stays in tip-top shape. Dr. Garcia also offers pediatric dentistry.

“We have always had a CEREC machine for same-day crowns, but now, we have a new and improved version that will better serve patients,” she disclosed.

Dr. Garcia was a long-time patient of the practice’s former owner, Dr. John Byers. After her graduation from West Virginia University in 2017, with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery, she joined the ranks at Grafton Family Dentistry.

Upon Byers’s retirement, Garcia took over the practice, which continues to thrive and grow.

Garcia is a member of the American Dental Association, the West Virginia Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the West Virginia University School of Dentistry’s Alumni.

“I am really excited to see patients at our new building and continue to watch our practice grow,” expressed Garcia. “It is great to be able to work in my hometown, among family and friends, to serve residents’ dental needs.”
