Graduates from Alderson Broaddus University are entering the workplace with record-high employment rates, new survey shows

PHILIPPI, W.Va.—June 2, 2020—Alderson Broaddus University has released its latest post-graduation career report, which shows that 100 percent of AB students from the Class of 2019 are in full-time employment or are pursuing further study within six months of graduation.

“Alderson Broaddus places great emphasis on career preparation and equipping our students with important workplace skills to improve their career and graduate school prospects,” said Kellie McMillen, director of career services. “Employability is built into all courses, with students undertaking a work placement, accepting intern and externships, and participating in workshops and modules.”

Graduates of Alderson Broaddus University continued to achieve excellent employment/graduate school rates in 2019 compared to the year before. Traditionally, it takes some time for graduates to enter highly skilled employment. However, this year the proportion of graduates employed or continuing their education within the first six months has reached an all-time high of 100 percent—an increase over the 99 percent reported in 2018.

Of the 226 graduates in the Class of 2019, 214 (95 percent) responded to the survey. Of the respondents, 83.7 percent reported being employed in their field of study. Seven percent of graduates were employed outside their field of study, while 9.3 percent were continuing their education in graduate school.

Armed with professional knowledge, practical experience, and hands-on skills, Alderson Broaddus graduates are prepared to compete with the demands of the workforce, as well as the expectations of graduate school programs.
