TAYLOR COUNTY—Join Calvary Baptist Church as they welcome a well-known gospel singer to their church, to help spread the word of God’s great mercy and power.
The church will be welcoming Gospel Music Hall of Famer Buddy Liles on Wednesday, August 3, with the music beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Liles, well-known as the legendary bass and baritone singer of The Florida Boys for over 25 years, brings decades of ministry experience to every program he offers.
A member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, Liles continues with a solo ministry he began nearly ten years ago, making his way around the country, ministering through music to thousands, annually.
Liles, a highly seasoned performer, began his career in 1963 with the Orrell Quarter in Detroit, Michigan, where he stayed for three years.
He would then go on to sing with the Landmark Quartet for two years, from 1966 to 1968, before moving into the role that he would become famous for, singing bass with the Florida Boys Quartet for nearly three decades, performing on the Gospel Singing Jubilee for many years.
Liles has appeared countless times in Bill Gaither videos, performed solo on various shows including Nashville Now, Nashville Prime Time and The Today Show. He has also toured Israel with Gospel Concerts of California.
He was even also invited to perform at a Congressional Breakfast in Washington D.C.
With an abundant amount of experience beneath his belt, it is no wonder that Liles earned numerous awards throughout his career.
Liles was the recipient of the prestigious Marvin Norcross award at the National Quartet Convention in 1995, known as one of the most honorable awards in Gospel music, and has also received the Favorite Bass award given by the Singing News Magazine.
He will be bringing his unique sound to Calvary Baptist Church, located on US Route 119 South, just outside of Grafton, and organizers invite everyone to attend.
