GRAFTON—The Church of the Good Shepherd is gearing up to be a part of this year’s Route 50 Yard Sale Day, and is inviting the community to join in on the fun and come out for a free lunch.
The US Route 50 Yard Sale is a nonprofit national event that allows for individuals, vendors or small business sidewalk sales to set up and sell their wares along U.S 50, anywhere between California to Maryland.
The sale works to encourage people to travel to and explore other areas, in turn helping to promote tourism, not just for hotels and restaurants but for small towns and small town businesses.
The event also gives locals a chance to sell any unwanted items they may have, and allows people to shop for bargains as they venture along the 3,073 miles of US Route 50.
This year’s annual sale is slated for May 21-23, and The Church of the Good Shepherd will be set up here locally taking part in the event that draws in bargain hunters from near and far, and is inviting the community to set up alongside them or to come out and browse around, while enjoying lunch on them.
The church will be having their own yard sale as part of the event on Saturday, May 22 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
And not only will patrons be treated to good deals, they will also be able to enjoy free hotdogs for lunch, courtesy of The Church of the Good Shepherd.
In addition, they are renting spaces in their lower parking lot for area residents to have the opportunity to set up and sell their items in conjunction with the US Route 50 Yard Sale.
The cost of renting a space is just $10, and the fee will greatly benefit the church. Those who do rent spaces from the church will be responsible for bringing their own tables, as well as any other materials or items they may need for the day, as the church will not be providing such things.
Anyone renting a space will also be liable for their area and merchandise, and should have someone present at their station at all times.
For questions about renting a space, or the church’s sale, place contact the church office at 304-265-1705, on Monday through Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
