Golf tournament being held to support local performing group

GRAFTON—The Grafton High School Entertainers Boosters, in collaboration with community partners, will be hosting a golf tournament in hopes of raising funds for the upcoming show choir season.

The Grafton High School Entertainers, composed of students ranging from ninth to twelfth grades, will be performing all over West Virginia as well as some neighboring states this coming year.

These students put in 52 hours a month of intense rehearsing as a team to best represent Grafton High School in show choir compensations.

This year, the GHS Entertainers will strive for perfection under the direction and guidance of Duretha Mayle. Mayle returns this year to take direction of the Entertainers after a couple of year away.

It will be exciting to see the new direction that she will take the group.

Local businesses and resident can show their support to the GHS Entertainers and their upcoming tournament, held at the Tygart Lake Golf Course, by choosing one of the following packages to sponsor the tournament: Gold sponsorship for $300, which includes a team of four entries, Hole & T- shirt sponsorship; Blue sponsorship for $150, which offers Hole and T-shirt sponsors; or White sponsorship for $100, which is your choice of Hole or T-shirt sponsors.

These packages are the only ones being offered, but a donation in any amount is appreciated. Donations can be sent to C/O Kayla Palmer 663 Shumaker Ridge Road Thornton, WV 26440. Checks should be made payable to GHSEB.

The GHS Entertainers golf tournament will be held at the Tygart Lake Golf Course, located at 3948 Knottsville Road in Grafton, on September 14.

The deadline to sign up for the tournament is September 3. The price is $50 per player or a foursome for $200.

Please contact Kyla Palmer if you would like to give to this worthy cause by either playing or as a sponsor, while having a great time on one of West Virginia’s most beautiful courses.
