Gloria Jean Miller, 68, of Flemington, WV, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Clarksburg on February 18, 1949, a daughter of the late Philip T. and Flora V. (Isabella) Richardson.
Gloria is survived by her husband Eddie “Butch” Miller and one son, Carl H. Pinnell II both of Flemington.
Gloria graduated from Flemington High School Class of 1967, and after a brief move to Texas returned home to West Virginia. She attended Salem University and Fairmont State College and held various jobs over the years including working in the coal mines as a roof bolter and then scale operator. Later she worked for the US Census Bureau and then became the office manager for a housing complex, where she eventually retired from. Gloria was an avid reader and also enjoyed writing poetry and short stories. Her hobbies included crafts of all sorts, cooking, and baking for her family and friends. Along with her husband Butch she enjoyed visits to the Flemington Senior Citizens Center and going to the annual Flemington Days Fair and Festival where they were also past King and Queen. Her smile and kind words will always be remembered by her family and many friends.
Gloria’s wishes for cremation will be honored, and no public visitation or services will be held. The Bradley J. Mayle Funeral Home is honored to serve the Miller Family during this time.
