GHS wrestlers compete over break


GRAFTON – The Grafton High School wrestling team has continued to wrestle during the Christmas break. The Cat’s hosted their first home tri-match last Wednesday night as the welcomed Philip Barbour and Lincoln to Scotty Hamilton Gymnasium.

In the team competition, the Bearcats came out on top as the defeated Philip Barbour (43-42) and then defeated Lincoln (48-24).

On Friday the Cats headed to Bridgeport to face Weir, Lincoln and Bridgeport. In team competition the Cats defeated Lincoln (42-18) but lost to Bridgeport (49-24) and Weir (35-34).

For the week, Noah Hodges remained undefeated on the season as he went a perfect 5-0 while Noah Alman and Garrett Ware also added undefeated records for the week.

The boys will be back in action tomorrow morning as they will host their home duals tournament at GHS. The matches are scheduled to begin at 10:00 am.
