GHS volleyball falls to Preston

GRAFTON—The Grafton High School volleyball team opened their 2017 home schedule last Thursday night, as they played host to the Preston Knights.

The GHS girls were able to win two of the five games, but it was not enough, as they fell to Preston 3—2.

Hannah Taylor led the Lady Cats with two aces, two blocks and six kills, while Hailey Skiles had four aces and one kill.

Brianna Farnsworth added one ace and two kills, and Kylie Hess had four aces. Morgan Harrison recorded two aces, two kills and four blocks, while Rachael Rock added one ace.

In JV action, the Cats lost both games. The first game they lost 25—8 and the second game was 25—19.

The JV stats include: Torri Waide (three aces), Serra Ross (one ace), Emily Rock (three aces, one kill), Emma Gilbert (two aces), Kassidy Simmons (2 kills) and Kylie Hess (one ace).

The girls were back in action on Tuesday night against Buckhannon.

The next game will be Wednesday at North Marion, and then on Thursday, the girls will take on Bridgeport.
