GHS track runs at Charlie Pritt Classic

Bearcats bring home sixth and seventh place finishes

KINGWOOD—The Grafton High School boys and girls track teams ran in the Charlie Pritt Classic in Kingwood, last week.

The meet took place at Preston County High School, and the Cats competed against teams from Morgantown, Elkins, Tucker County, University, Preston and Philip Barbour.

In the team competition the boys finished in seventh place with 37 points, while the girls finished in sixth place with a team total of 45 points.

In the boys division, Tristenn Cochran continued to dominate the track with first place finishes in the 200 meter dash, 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles.

In the girls division, Sydney Keener placed second in the 300 meter hurdles, while teammate Micah Collins placed second in the high jump.

In the girl’s relay events the team of Rachel McKinney, Alyssa Wright, Amber Poling and Suzie Clelland place first in the 4X100 relay, while the team of Keener, Brooklyn Perks, Morgan Loomis and Wright placed second in the 4X100 meter shuttle relay.

The Bearcats will be back in action on Friday night, as they travel to Rachel to compete at North Marion High School.
