GRAFTON— Three Bearcat swimmers made noticeable splashes in the pool this season, and earned themselves spots on the 2020-2021 All Big-Ten Conference Team.
Head coach Heather England was proud to announce that Grafton High School (GHS) sophomore Will Angus was selected to the Boys Second Team, while Freshman Katie Novisky and Junior Frederique Maloley were chosen for Girls Honorable Mention.
According to England, the All-Conference team is based on top points scored during conference meets, as well as votes from the Big Ten coaches.
“It means a great deal for these kids to be recognized by other teams’ coaches,” she commented. “It is specifically gratifying for us (GHS), as a smaller team, when you consider the caliber of talent in our conference!”
Although the team, like many others, suffered through an unconventional season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these three athletes remained unwavering in their determination to succeed, and it didn’t go unnoticed.
“This is a great accomplishment, especially considering all of the obstacles we’ve faced this year. I couldn’t be more proud of our kids,” expressed England.
