GRAFTON—The Grafton High School girls basketball team hosted the Berkeley Springs Indians, last Friday night, in front of a packed house, at Scotty Hamilton Gymnasium.
The girls took the lead in the first quarter, and never trailed, on their way to a 51 to 45 victory.
The Lady Bearcats took a 10 to 6 lead after the first quarter, behind the shooting of Ally Peters.
Then in the second, Bronlie Jacobs got the hot hand, as the Lady Cats took a 19 to 17 lead into the locker room.
The Cats and Indians played close in the third quarter, with the Cats outscoring the Indians 13 to 11.
Both teams saved the fourth quarter to be their most productive, as the Cats scored 19 and the Indians scored 17. But, it was too late for the Indians ,as the Lady Bearcats recorded their third win on the season 51 to 45.
Ally Peters led all scorers with 20 points, while Bronlie Jacobs scored 13 in her return to action.
The remaining points came from Brooklyn Teeple (8), Hanna Taylor (1), Tiffany Bolyard (4), Megan Kisner (1) and Bailey Toothman (4).
The Lady Bearcats will be back in action tonight, as they travel to Buckhannon for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
