CLARKSBURG—The Grafton High School golf team opened up its season on Tuesday night, at Bel Meadows Golf Course, in the Liberty Invitational.
It was a very successful day for the Cats, as they captured their first win of the season. The team results were as follows: Grafton (372), East Fairmont (393), Elkins (400) and Lincoln (393).
The low medalist for the invitational was Payton Moore, from Lincoln, with an 84 while Grafton’s Skyler Rudy placed second, with an 88.
The remaining Bearcats scores were Cabell Bolyard (94), Caden Moore (95) and Kolbe Kimbrew (95).
“It’s a great win to start the season,” said head coach Luke McCall. “The kids played with heart and overcame a slow start,” he added.
