GRAFTON—The Grafton High School wrestling team hosted the Grafton Duals last weekend, in the Scotty Hamilton Gymnasium.
In front of a packed house the boys wrestled their way to a fourth place finish. The tournament teams consisted of teams from Grafton, Hedgesville, Philip Barbour, Petersburg, Mapletown PA, Moorefield, Liberty, Morgantown High and University High.
In team competition the Bearcats defeated Morgantown JV and Moorefield and lost to Hedgesville, Mapletown and University JV.
In individual competition Noah Hodges recorded a perfect 5 and 0 record at 106 while team mate
Keith Skaggs was also 5 and 0 in the 113 pound class. The other Bearcats that were perfect on the day was junior Garrett Ware with a 5 and 0 record at 285 and Dillon Williams was 5 and 0 at 145.
At 126 David Williams was 4 and 1 and at 152 Anthony Phillips was 3 and 2. Dalton Mayle was 2 and 3 at 160 while Clinton Mayle was 3 and 2 at 170. Clinton and Dalton’s brother Zack was 1 and 4 at 182.
The Bearcats will be back in action this coming weekend as they travel to Bridgeport to compete in the WV regional championships with a chance to advance into the stae tournament in Charleston.
