GRAFTON—The Grafton High School (GHS) Bearcat Cheerleaders would like to present their first-ever camp of future cheerleaders, the 2021 Mini Cats!
GHS cheer held their inaugural Mini Cats Cheerleading Camp July 7-9, and organizers were more than pleased with the turnout.
During the event, the Mini Cats were taugh skills in cheer, dance, tumbling, stunting, flexibility and conditioning.
The camp welcomed seasoned cheer veterans along with athletes who are new to cheer, and the culmination will come together in a showcase of teamwork with the Mini Cats performing alongside the GHS Cheerleaders at the Bearcats first home football game this season.
The camp, a fundraiser for the GHS cheer squad, could not have happened without the help of cheerleaders, parent volunteers, the GHS administration and numerous sponsors.
The sponsors this year included the Leer Mine, L&B Dental, GLO Aesthetics, Complete Eye Care and Family Fishing and Camping, along with the dedicated and caring friends and family of the Bearcat Cheerleaders.
Coaches Chatera Morris and Alyssa Duckworth voiced that they are so thankful to everyone who helped with the event, as well as those who took part in the camp.
“We are already looking forward to next year’s camp,” said Morris.
We at the Mountain Statesman look forward to another outstanding year of the Bearcat Cheerleaders encouraging their respective teams with spirit and enthusiasm though the 2021-22 season.
