GHS boys soccer team gets shutout by B-U Buccaneers


TENNERTON – The Grafton Bearcats dropped a 4-0 decision to the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers in Big 10 Conference soccer action Tuesday afternoon.

Ryan Hurst put the Bucs on the scoreboard in the seventh minute scoring on a penalty kick.

Hurst scored again in the 19th minute playing a cross from the left corner by Sam Squires and finishing with a shot to the far post.

Hurst scored his third goal right before the half ended as he played a through ball that split that Grafton defense from midfield from Lane Tenney.

That gave the Bucs a 3-0 lead at the half.

Ketterman scored the lone goal of the second half in the 45th minute as he cleaned up a rebound off a shot of the post and lofted in a shot.

The Bucs owned a 17-3 lead in shots-on-goal and a 13-1 lead in corner kicks.

Buckhannon-Upshur was guilty of two fouls while Grafton was called for five.

B-U keeper Dalton Auvil made three saves while Grafton goalie Bryson Kittle made nine stops.
