GHS boys soccer falls to Byrd

CLARKSBURG—The Grafton High School boys soccer team took the show on the road last Thursday night, to do battle with the Eagles of Robert C. Byrd.

The boys held the state ranked Eagles to two goals in the first half, but in the end the Eagles came away with a 6—1 win.

The lone Grafton goal was scored on a header from Quincy Copeland, off of a corner kick from Marik Chambers.

The Bearcats were able to get off five shots in the contest. The shots on goal were credited to Copeland (3), Gabe Wolverton and Kaden Moore.

Alec Correia was back in goal for the Bearcats, as he registered one save in the contest.

The Cats were back in action on Tuesday night, as they hosted Lincoln. The next contest will be on Thursday at Liberty. The game time is set for 8:00 p.m.
