Genenieve Mae (Cain) Costello, of Astor, WV, passed away at the age of 98, on Thursday, March 8, 2018, in the comfort of her home.
She was the daughter of the late Leonidas and Rebecca Cain, born December 14, 1919, in Harrison County.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Bernard Costello on November 6, 1965, at Oakland, MD.
Surviving are two sons: David Cain and wife Barbara of Ohio, and Gary Costello and fiancé Edith Starkey of Astor; a sister Mary Reed; a brother Orville Cain; six grandchildren: Debbie Johnson Fenstermacher, David and Troy Cain, Theresa Cain Purkey, Brent, Ryan, and Travis Yost; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; two daughters: Ruby Johnson and Catherine Yost; two brothers: Ed and James Cain; five sisters: Mildred Proust, Violet Wilson, Vernie Flannigan, Eva Stout, and Rosie Cain.
Genenieve worked as a seamstress at the former shirt factory in Grafton, where she retired after 28 years of service. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, canning, and caring for her chickens. Most of all she loved being around her family.
Family and friends will be received at the Bradley J. Mayle Funeral Home, in Flemington, WV, on Monday, March 12, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Lois Sandy presiding.
Interment will follow at the Astor Cemetery.
