GRAFTON— The Grafton Gators Swim Team is looking for some strong swimmers to fill their roster, hoping to make a splash in their 2021 season, and will be hosting sign-up for potentials.
According to an announcement on Facebook, the team will be hosting sign-ups on Sunday, April 25 and Monday, April 26, from 6:30-7:30 p.m., at the Grafton City Pool.
As in the past, the registration will be $35 per swimmer. Each swimmer will be responsible for purchasing goggles and a one piece swimsuit.
Typically, coaches provide a link for their traditional green suits for parents to order from. These details and more will be shared with registrants during sign-ups.
Currently, coaches have not worked out definite information regarding practice days and times, and will be unable to do so until updated information about the COVID-19 protocols regarding outdoor sporting events are released.
Usually, evening practices are held after the pool closes to the public, and meets are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, with the ever changing pandemic, this is subject to change.
And while there is no lower age limit to be a part of the team, since it is a competitive team, the swimmer must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 meters) without any assistance, and without stopping for breaks. The maximum age for a Gator is 18.
