Gators take a bite out of Barbour County and Morgantown

GRAFTON—The Grafton Gators swim team held it final regular season meet last Thursday night, at Fetterman Pool, against the Morgantown United Aquatic Club.

Both the boys and girls teams dominated their competition on their way to a 399 to 237 victory.

The boy’s team out scored MUAC 119 to 80 ,and the Gator girls won 123 to 105.

In individual and relay events, the following swimmers had first place finishes: Logan Mayle, Isaiah Lemmon, Chase Maier, Issac Young, Bella Lemon, Brooklyn Haddix, Maggie Brake, Kevie Sipes, Gabriel Young, Jacob Stravrakis, Noah Uhl, Jonathon Maier, Elizabeth Uhl, Katie Novisky, Emily Poling, Savannah Lyons, Zack Nibert, Will Angus, Gage Reed, Levi Miller, Natalie Satterfield, Kayla Mitchell-Bryne, Jocelyn Countryman, Payton England, Luke Nibert, Haleigh Cook, Calvin Wise, Blaise Nibert, Julia Shay, Jaxon Halbritter, Jerra Halbritter, Jocelynn Annon, Harrison Maier and Leah Jackson.

In an earlier meet, held on July 11, the Gators played host to the Barbour County Barracudas.

In the combined team competition, the Gators defeated Barbour County 298 to 268.

As it breaks down further, the boys defeated Barbour County 111 to 78, while the girls tied 116 to 116.

Jocelynn Annon, Jocelyn Countryman, Payton England, Jaxon Halbritter, Jerra Halbritter, Chase Maier, Harrison Maier, Jonathon Maier, Levi Miller, Kayla Mitchell-Bryne, Blaise Nibert, Luke Nibert, Zack Nibert, Natalie Satterfield, Julia Shay, Noah Uhl, Gabriel Young, Issac Young and Calvin Wise all had first place finishes for the Gators.

The Gators were also in action on June 29, as they hosted Elkins at Fetterman Pool.

This time the Gators were not as fortunate, as they fell to Elkins by a score of 393 to 213.

The Gator girls lost 187 to 100, while the Gator boys fell 131 to 76.

First place finishers include Jocelynn Annon, Payton England, Jaxon Halbritter, Jerra Halbritter, Alyssa Jackson, Chase Maier, Harrison Maier, Jonathon Maier, Gage Reed, Natalie Satterfield and Issac Young.

The Gators will be competing in the North Central WV Summer Championships this Friday and Saturday. at Buckhannon High School.

They will have 14 swimmers competing in the final event of the summer season.
