TAYLOR COUNTY—For years, the Knights have been providing residents with delicious, homemade pastries, fresh from the fryer. And what’s even better, all the proceeds collected from the sale of their sweet treats goes back to those in need within the county.
The organization will once again be hosting their monthly donut sale.
The first round of donuts will hit the tables beginning at 8:00 a.m., on Friday, December 10. Donuts will be sold at the Knights of Columbus House, located next to Anna Jarvis Elementary School on U.S. Route 50, until 1:00 p.m. on Friday and again from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11.
The Knights of Columbus Council #713 typically serves up their sweet treats in the classic flavors of original, powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, iced vanilla, iced chocolate and iced maple.
“We are also featuring a chocolate donut now, along with a blueberry one,” said Knights of Columbus member Jerry Kochka.
He noted that sometimes they throw some fun flavors into the lineup like maple bacon and coconut, as well.
“We have some guys who like to spice things up in the kitchen, so on a whim, they will throw some extra toppings out there,” Kochka explained. “Our customers will just have to stop by to see if we have any of the additional flavors available.”
Donuts will be sold for $10 a dozen, and all proceeds will be used to help the needy in the community.
