Flagger transported to hospital following Monday morning accident

Crews were called to the scene of an accident on Route 50 East in Taylor County, near Thornton, on Monday morning. According to officials, a 33-year-old flagger was struck by a 66-year old man driving a truck, while he was working alongside a workzone. The victim was transported by Taylor County EMS to Grafton City Hospital, before he was then taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital. The flagger was conscious at the scene, but there is no word as to the extent of his injuries. The Taylor County Sheriff’s Department is handling the investigation. Grafton Fire Department also responded to the scene.
