TAYLOR COUNTY—Springtime is here, and that means that soon, the Easter Bunny will be making his rounds to bring joy to area children. To help usher in the season of excitement, two local businesses have teamed up for some First Friday fun.
Join T’s Tasty Treats and Olde Town Coffee & Donut Shop as they present an Easter egg hunt for the whole community.
“We have decided to team up with Olde Town for some good old-fashioned family fun,” said Tanisha Nelder, owner of T’s Tasty Treats. “We are going to be hiding easter eggs throughout town during First Friday, with special discounts and gift cards for kids and adults to seek.”
She explained that brightly colored, plastic eggs would be hidden throughout the downtown area, but they would also be concealing them in other areas of interest, as well.
“For the most part, we will hide them throughout downtown, especially in areas like the Grafton Post Office, the International Mother’s Day Shrine and other well-known places downtown,” Nelder revealed. “We also want to incorporate the parks, but we think it would be better to keep everything mainly within walking distance.”
For the lucky participants who claim eggs, there are special surprises hidden inside, including ways to snag some delicious treats from either shop.
“There will even be a few golden eggs that have will bigger prizes in them,” Nelder shared. “So be sure to keep your eyes open during First Fridays!”
She disclosed that, now that springtime weather and warmer temperatures have begun making their way back to Taylor County, she wanted to come up with a fun way to get children and their families outdoors.
“So, I started thinking and came up with the idea of an easter egg hunt,” Nelder explained. “In hopes of securing even more prizes and including additional businesses downtown, I talked to Christie [Collins], and she was on board.”
She revealed that over 100 brightly colored eggs will be hidden throughout downtown shortly before First Friday kicks off, and that she hopes people will participate. And in the spirit of the holiday, participants should leave eggs behind for others to find, as well.
Nelder disclosed that she will be offering specials in her shop during the festivities but had not yet decided on her featured items or discounts by press time.
And be sure to keep an eye out, because she also shared that she would like to host pictures with the Easter Bunny in the near future.
